Year 2000, Pos Malaysia issued a set of MS depicting the theme of DRAGON, the official pictorial canceler stamp had the Chinese characters "龙年庆“ （celebration of Dragon Year) inscripted, this is the first ever First Day of Issue postmark having Chinese words . This is something unique in Malaysian Postal History. I had taken the opportunity to create several DRAGON MCs.

Dad left us peacefully 10 years ago ( Lunar Calendar 13th day of the 8th Month ). Time flies ，it is the 10th anniversary of the death of DAD. Dad was a quiet person, it was hard to read the sorrows and worries on the face of DAD, he would keep everything in his heart, perhaps, the ONLY person he spoke his heart out was with MUM. There were much hardship DAD had gone through in his life and all these stories were told through MUM. I will like to seek for DAD's pardon for whatever I had DONE mistake in life. It is NOT cheap to realise a Maximum Card in JAPAN as compared to the scenario in Malaysia. Firstly, the cost of an ordinary postcard is selling at 157yen ( i.e ~ RM 6.20 ), about 6 times the cost of a card in Malaysia. Secondly, the value of the postage stamp, a stamp of normal face value cost 80yen (~ RM 3.20) . Hence, an ordinary stamp + an ordinary card cost approx. 237yen or RM 9.50, many times the cost of producing a maximum card in Malaysia. However, since I was at Yokohama for Philanippon 2011 World Philatelic Exhibition, I would NOT miss the opportunity to realise some MCs for keeping. Having made the decision to realise MCs, following I began to worry whether the Japan Postal Staffs are capable of making good postmark cancellation on a slippery surfaced postcard. If the postal staff failed me, I would waste the monies in buying the stamps and postcards. Was glad that the experienced postal staff of the Japan Post did perfect job on the cancellation on all of my maximum cards. Many thanks to the Japan Post. The excellent cancellation work performed by the postal staff is an asset to the maximum card collectors, I was thinking, if I am living in Japan, I would make use of this asset to produce many maximum cards. However, in a strong traditional based philatelic environment in Japan, there is hardly anyone realising Maximum cards @ Philanippon 2011 .....

At the time of creating this MC, I could not figure out the location of the airport depicted on the 80sen stamp (100 years of Aviation in Malaysia stamp), some suggested it is the Old Melaka Airport, however, no matter which angle I look at it, it does NOT resemble the airport at Batu Berendam , Melaka. Pos Malaysia did NOT describe and give the detail of the actual location of the airport .... from my collection of postcard, I could find an airport card of the British airways Era which has a view of the airport control tower structure rather similar to that of the image depicted on the stamp. I could say during the period of time, the design of the airport tower around the world was quite similar.

Just for the sake of realising "100 Year of Aviation in Malaysia" MCs , I detoured from an assignment at Majlis Perbandaran Nilai and shot to KLIA via Enstek country road. When I arrived at approx. 10.00 am, was told by the postal staff, all the stamps and covers had been fully SOLD, as I had got myself prepared with the stamps I bought earlier from Seremban GPO, hence, I only requested for the rubber stamp to have my Maximum Cards postmarked. Airbus A380 - the biggest commercial aircraft in history is featured for the first time on a Malaysian Stamp, although Malaysia has yet to acquire one . I thought I should NOT miss this stamp on a maximum card. I received several telephone calls to request to buy and service FDCs on behalf, however, nothing can be done .... the set of stamps and covers were SOLD out early in the morning at all the post offices nationwide.

I do not collect First Day Covers, But due to the request from a FDC Lover, I bought the "100 year of Aviation in Malaysia" stamps and covers from Seremban GPO and serviced them @ KLIA post office. A pictorial cancel and a CDS postmark were applied on the FDC.
